Speich Clear View Screens keep the glass disk free from the heaviest rain, snow, or sea water by fast rotation.  Produced since 1938, tens of thousands of units have been installed on every type of vessel world wide.  The unit is air and watertight and as such suitable for pressurized and air-conditioned bridges.

The motor is fixed to the center of the fixed glass in order to achieve the larges field of vision.  The rotating glass is hardened and optically rectified in order to avoid any optical distortion.  The motor is available in a wide range of voltages and the rotor is tropicalised and turns on silent ball bearings.

All metal parts are made of brass and a specially designed manifold between the ring surrounding the rotating glass and the fixed frame keeps the unit watertight.  The space between the two sheets of glass can be electrically heated using a resistance to avoid condensation and ice formation.

Speich Clear View Screens are available in three sizes: 15" (380mm), 14" (350mm) and 12" (300mm).
